The Alabama Crimson Tide secured a massive commitment on Tuesday when five-star quarterback Jaylen Carter announced his decision to play in Tuscaloosa. Carter, the top-ranked signal caller in the 2027 recruiting class, chose Alabama over finalists Ohio State, Georgia, and USC.
Standing 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Carter threw for 4,200 yards and 48 touchdowns during his junior season at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. He is widely considered the most complete quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer has now assembled three consecutive top-five recruiting classes since taking over the program. Carter's commitment pushes Alabama's 2027 class to the number one ranking nationally according to all major recruiting services.
